THREE-DAY WORKSHOP HELD FOR DRAFTING THE STRATEGY ON LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENT 2027–2031

The Ministry of Local Government Administration (MLGA) has initiated the process of drafting the new Strategy for Local Self-Government 2027–2031, through a three-day workshop organized with the support of DEMOS.

The workshop was attended by the Secretary General of the MLGA, Mr. Jeton Qela, representatives of line ministries, other relevant institutions, various organizations, representatives of civil society, as well as directors of the ministry’s departments.

During the workshop, the results of the evaluation of the implementation of the Strategy for Local Self-Government 2016–2026 were discussed, through which the strategic objectives, sub-objectives and main activities that will be included in the new Strategy for Local Self-Government 2027–2031 were defined.

The forthcoming strategy will focus on the continuous advancement of the legal framework for local self-government, strengthening local economic development, promoting good governance and local democracy, as well as on the processes of digitalization, innovation and modernization of municipal administration. The drafting of the Strategy 2027–2031 aims to create a more comprehensive, sustainable and developmental approach to local government, addressing the challenges and priorities of municipalities for the coming years.
