The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Government Administration Mr. Slobodan Petrović is staying on an official visit to the United States of America to attend the three-day International Conference on Local Governance.
The three-day conference was attended by representatives and experts of local self-government from all countries of the world. In the conference which was attended by over 800 representatives of various institutions and countries from around the world, Deputy Prime Minister Petrović has spoke about the progress that Kosovo has achieved in the process of local government reform.
In his presentation before the participants, the Deputy Prime Minister Petrović has said that decentralization process, as a top priority of the Government, is the ideal opportunity to accommodate the concerns of the communities in Kosovo.
"The process of decentralization has been implemented in the best possible way to provide equal rights for all citizens," has said Deputy Prime Minister Petrović.
The Deputy Prime Minister during his speech at the International Conference for Local Government, which is being held in the United States of America, has said that efficient use of human and financial resources of local institutions has been very successful, because the decision-making of citizens regarding the use of budgets was more direct.
During his visit to the United States of America, the Deputy Prime Minister Petrović will also have meetings with the ambassadors and senior representatives of the United Nations in New York.
