Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Government Administration, Slobodan Petrovic, signed understanding agreement with municipalities benefiting from the regional development fund 2013.
In this ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Petrovic greeted those present, saying that the goal of the fund this year is supporting economic regeneration as well as creating new jobs and developing human resources.
“Priority of this fund is to make it possible for the municipalities to further develop their leading role in economic development through projects that contribute to one or more priorities listed on the the Regional Development Strategy. One of the instruments that is mostly used in the region and EU countries to overcome deficiences in capacities while preserving the autonomy of localities is inter-municipal cooperation, and this was one of the conditions to apply for the municipalities – coming with a joint projects and creating various partnerships in order to have a balanced economic development for everyone to benefit”- Deputy Prime Minister Petrovic emphasized.
Financed by the 2013 budget of MLGA, Process of Regional Development Fund was developed based on competitiveness, where 29 application were handed in. Based on criteria and intentions of financing were chosen 12 projects, on which except 12 leading municipalities (Prishtina, Gllogovc, Lipjan, Obiliq, Graqanice, Partesh, Shterpce, Kamenice, Hani i Elezit, Peje, Vushtrri and Prizren) there were another 19 benefiary municipalties.
Amount given from the Ministry of Local Government Administration, is 640.760.
