Regional workshop “Implementation of transparency and access to public documents”

The Division for Transparency in Municipalities, within DMTP in the Ministry of Local Government Administration and the financial support of OSCE has today on 26.05.2014 held a regional meeting in Prishtina aimed at enhancing transparency and best administrative practices with regards to the access to public documents. The Division for Transparency in Municipalities, within DMTP in the Ministry of Local Government Administration and the financial support of OSCE has today on 26.05.2014 held a regional meeting in Prishtina aimed at enhancing transparency and best administrative practices with regards to the access to public documents.

The regional meetings were attended by four officials of municipalities; directors of administration, legal officers, information officers and heads of the office of the mayor.

The meeting was chaired by Avni Sahiti, Head of Department for Municipal Transparency and Performance while the presentation on "Transparency at the local level and the right of access to public documents" was done by Nazmije Krasniqi – Head of Division for Transparency in Municipalities/MLGA. Christopher Tuetsch, Senior Program Officer for Local Government at the OSCE has made an overview on the OSCE’s activities regarding transparency, followed by the presentation on "Publication of municipal acts and action plan for transparency made by Zajrete Sylejmani" At this meeting, participants had the opportunity to make comments, additions and suggestions.
