Ministry of Local Government Administration, with the support of the OSCE, held the meeting with the deputy mayors for Communities in order to introduce the guidance document regarding the “. Terms of Reference for deputy mayors for Communities ", which are developed based on the local self-government legislation in the Republic of Kosovo.
Of those present was estimated that the role of municipalities’ deputy mayors, it is very important for communities to promote their rights of all non-majority communities living within the administrative territory of the municipality. It is also important to have a stable cooperation between deputy mayors for communities and other municipal officials and community representatives in order to identify the needs and to make sure that they are been implemented.
At the end of the meeting it was noted that the Ministry of Local Government Administration in close cooperation with the OSCE during 2015, will continue to work closely in capacity building for municipal officials, in order to ensure full implementation of the legislation on local self-government.
