The MLGA’s delegation led by Deputy Minister Bajram Gecaj and General Secretary of MLGA Ms. Ukimeraj has conducted a study visit to Slovenia and Austria from 28.02 to 03.03.2017 to exchange experiences with different institutions and organisations operating in the field of regional development.
During their visit to the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, the MLGA’s delegation was informed by the Department for Regional Development about the system, legislation, coordination of regional development in Slovenia. During the visit to this institution, the delegation has also had two other separate meetings with the Governmental Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy as well the Institute for Regional Development Fund. During these meetings, the delegation have got acquainted to the financing of regional development in Slovenia.
The visit to the Regional Development Agency in Maribor was focused on the exchange of experiences for functionalizing of the Agency, coordination between municipalities and the central level, system of financing and benefits realized by the Agency to municipalities by national funds and funds of the EU.
While visiting the Regional Government of Styria region in Graz region of Austria, MLGA’s representatives were informed about the use of EU funds in terms of regional development.
The delegation has also paid a visit to the Planer Company in Graz, Austria, where they were informed about the development and implementation of projects in the field of regional development.
MLGA’s delegation has visited the Municipality of Wilfersdorf in Austria where they were welcomed by the Mayor of the Weinviertel region. The delegation was informed about the projects that municipality is benefiting in the field of regional development, cross border co-operation, inter-municipal cooperation for joint projects and coordination with regional development agency.
During the study visit in Austria, MLGA officials have met the representatives of respective projects that have been supported by EU funds in the municipality of Wilfersdorf.
