At the invitation of the Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals, the MLGA representative at the Legal Department and Monitoring of Municipalities, Flutura Hoxha has participated in the workshop organized by ICMM with the topic “Inter-Institutional Coordination for implementation of the Law on Mines and Minerals for the Prevention of Illegal Activities”.
The purpose of this workshop was to have an inter-institutional coordination because without such coordination, because is very difficult for a single institutionto accomplish the goal of preventing unlicensed mining activities.
Since the Law on Mines and Minerals has many legal obligations for municipalities, it was required to have a coordination with the local government in order to prevent illegal operations, with special emphasis in specific municipalities. Mrs. Hoxha from MLGA, thank the organizers of this workshop and invite them for cooperation in relation to the legal obligations of the municipalities of Kosovo. This workshop was concluded with certain findings and recommendations for responsible institutions.
