Yesterday, 13 February 2019, Kosovo democratic Institute has published the “Municipal Transparometer Report for 2018” a project which is supported by the British Embassy in Pristina.
This report includes a research on the transparency and accountability index for 11 municipalities such as: South Mitrovica, Obiliq, Drenas, Malisheva, Klina, Mamusha, Dragash, Shterpce, Graçanica, Viti and Kamenica.
On this occasion, in capacity of the panelist the General Secretary of MLGA Mrs. Rozafa Ukimeraj emphasized that “MLGA during these years has developed several projects and platforms that promote the elements of transparency, accountability and citizen’s inclusion in decision-making”. Mrs. Ukimeraj emphasized also the commitment of the ministry in strengthening the public transparency and accountability, by giving the example of institutional model of transparency. MLGA is in the process of creating this model, supported by the British Embassy, and for the same, next year it is planned to spread out the system and replicate it in 5 municipalities.
MLGA also supported by the British Embassy started a transparent process of monitoring of the recruitment of the civil servants (a project supported by the British Embassy and implemented by BIRN); carried out the assessment of the project proposals for the category of subsidies in cooperation with the Civil Society; the assessment of the legality of the municipal acts are published in real time; procurement contracts are public and currently is open the call for all Civil Society Organizations to express their interest for monitoring all the bidding processes.
