In today’s meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Government, Mr. Goran Rakić and the Director of the Peace Corps Mrs. Carolyne Siganda, it was discussed about the cooperation of the MLG with the Peace Corps, regarding the engagement of Peace Corps volunteers who have been engaged in municipalities for years in order to strengthen their organizational capacity.
Minister Rakić and Director Siganda agreed that after the end of COVID-19 pandemics, based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2018, they will work together in order to continue cooperation between MLS and the Peace Corps.
Minister Rakic emphasized that the main goal of Peace Corps is to enable employment in local institutions and in the community in order to develop institutional capacity, through the help of qualified and experienced experts.
