Deputy Head of the Division for the Advancement of Human Rights in the Municipalities of the MLG, Mrs. Luljeta Ibishi Ferizi, participated in the Conference on the occasion of marking the “International Day of Persons with Disabilities” through the Zoom platform.
The purpose of marking this day was to discuss and determine priorities in protecting and ensuring the rights of Persons with Disabilities, as an equal part of society in the Republic of Kosovo. All together agreed to cooperate and engage in the protection of the rights of people with disabilities.
The conference was organized by the Office for Good Governance/OPM, with the support of the European Union Office project “Promoting inclusion in the consultative processes for governance and public administration reforms in the disability sector at local, national and regional level”, which is being implemented by HandiKOS, in partnership with Disability Partnership Finland, Threshold, the Kosovo Association of the Deaf and the Kosovo Association of the Blind, and the Kosovo Disability Forum.
Mr. Habit Hajredini, Office for Good Governance/Office of the Prime Minister opened the conference, the introductory speeches were held by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Driton Selmanaj and the Ombudsperson, Mr. Naim Celaj. Whereas, part of the panel were: representatives of the Project “Inclusive Kosovo”, funded by the EU Office in Kosovo, representatives of the Kosovo Disability Forum, HANDIKOS, the Kosovo Association of the Deaf, the Kosovo Association of the Blind. In addition to central institution officials there also participated local level Officials /NJDNJK.
