The Deputy Minister of Local Government Administration, Agon Batusha, attended the presentation of the Thematic Report on Inter-municipal Cooperation in Kosovo, published by the OSCE Mission in Kosovo.
In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of cooperation between municipalities for capacity building, improving services, and implementing projects of mutual interest.
“Inter-municipal cooperation should be viewed as a practical tool for addressing challenges shared by municipalities. Pooling resources can create economies of scale, enhance service quality, and enable the implementation of projects that a single municipality would find difficult to manage on its own,” Deputy Minister Batusha stated.
He noted that this approach would be incorporated into the new Local Self-Government Strategy (2027–2031), focusing on providing financial and professional support to municipalities and developing concrete inter-municipal projects.
