The purpose of the workshop is to present the ideas of the parties for the development of long-term and short-term urban and spatial planning based on the recommendations of the Regional Vision, the findings of the relevant municipal profiles developed for the Municipal Development Plans (MDPs) and the modification of priorities at the municipal level to proceed with the development of the MDPs.
In the workshop MLGA is represented by Besim Myrtezani and Driton Xhafa with the topic on using the inter-municipal cooperation (CBC) as an opportunity to develop projects in the field of economic development and strategic planning of two or more municipalities for the realization of projects that require high financial cost. Municipalities through CBC develop their activities and have the opportunity to be supported financially through:
- The budget of the Republic of Kosovo and the ministries of relevant fields,
- CBC could be financed from municipal budgets whose financial responsibilities are defined through an agreement,
- Municipalities that are part of the inter-municipal cooperation could apply for financial support to the international donors, including EU funds but also at the investment fund allocated by UN Habitat.
