The Ministry of Local Government Administration supported by DEMOS and the KLGI Institute held the workshop of the Consultative Forum on Local Government regarding the coordination of the work of the forum and the drafting of a joint agenda for local government.
During the workshop, was discussed about the position of civil society regarding topics such as: Internal Governance/Local Administration; Good Governance; Municipal performance; Finance and Local Economic Development; Inter-governmental sectoral issues (specific grants); Municipal sectoral issues; Social Issues and Recurring (Layered, Systematic) Problems.
In this workshop, in addition to MLGA, also participated: representatives from the DEMOS project, KLGI, BIRN, Lëvizja FOL, GAP Institute, D4D and Teach for Kosovo.
Within the workshop it is foreseen to draft a document of civil society positions for the new municipal bodies that will emerge after the local elections of 2021. The document will remain the property of the forum and will analyze the current state of governance and forum proposals for the process and steps to be taken by the new municipal bodies to resolve the identified problems. The document will also serve civil society organizations to address in a unified form the issues that need to be addressed and the priorities to be set.
