Ministry of Local Government Administration, participated in the International Conference on Trafficking of Children, on the occasion of 60th anniversary of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Euro-Mediterranean Network on fighting the human trafficking, is comprised of more than 13 Caritas, in all Europe and Middle East, where it is organized a programme for exchanging concerns on human trafficking. This programme aims to raise the effect of Caritas in preventing and fighting trafficking in the euro-Mediterranean region as well as raise the awareness of this phenomenon.
Initially in the Conference organized by Caritas Kosovo it was played the movie “RRUGA” (eng. Street), a movie about two victims of trafficking and their life controlled by traffickers. Afterwards it was presented the origin, the objectives and influence of the Euro-Mediterranean project, the joint actions to prevent and fight against human trafficking during the period of 9 years, child trafficking in forced labor, child trafficking in forced marriages. All these themes were presented by Caritas Kosova, Don Viktor Sopi, French Caritas, Geneviève Colas and the initiator of the network, member of COATNET/International Caritas, Caritas Mona, Sylvia Eid, Caritas Albanian, Lorela Marku, Caritas Lebanon, Noha Roukoss, Caritas Jordanian, Nesreen Dababneh Migration Programme Officer.
In the conference participated Government central and local institutions, USA Embassy – Justice Department, local and international NGOs etc.
