Consultative meeting in Prizren region about the Strategy of Local Self-Government 2015-2025 - Ministria e Administrimit te Pushtetit Lokal

Ministry of Local Government Administration on May 23, 2014 organized a consultative meeting in Prizren region about the Strategy of Local Self-Government 2015-2025, which was headed by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Local Government Administration, Mr.Besnik Osmani. This was the third meeting, foreseen within the consultation meetings with the regions of Kosova regarding the Local Self-Government Strategy 2015-2025. This meeting was attended by: representatives of MLGA, representatives of the Inter-Ministerial Group on the Strategy for Local Self Government 2015 – 2025, Chairmen of the Municipal Assemblies, caucus leaders, business representatives and local NGO representatives from municipalities: Prizren, Dragash, Mamusha,Suhareka/Suva Reka, Rahovec/Orahovac and Malisheva/o.
The idea and purpose of organizing this meeting was that the participants get acquainted more closely with the first draft of the Local Self-Government Strategy 2015 – 2025, which is compiled initially as a draft by officials of MLGA and in the weeks following there will be other consultations with other regions, so that all regions should be geographically included in the discussions on Local Self-Government Strategy, 2015-2025. During the presentation of the Strategy of Local Self-Government 2015 – 2025 the way of drafting of the methodology of work in the Strategy of Local Self-Government was presented to participants, then background / context, strategic orientations, Action Strategy, the Alternative approach of action, challenges that local government is facing and steps of the implementation of the Strategy of Local Self-Government, including here actors involved respectively your suggestions and comments that would be welcomed in their involvement in the Strategy of the Local Self-government.

At the meeting, besides MLGA officials, also mayor of Prizren Ramadan Muja has held an occasional speech, who thanked the participants for their presence and stressed some remarks that were made by the Association of Kosovo Municipalities, Mr. Muja has discussed about how should, local government units be organized, and warned that in the future must take into account the fact that how will these units organized.

Except Mr. Muja, also the invited participants have taken the speech and have raised issues that had to do with local governance in general as well as with the documenting of the (Strategy of Local Self-Government 2015-2025). At the end of the meeting was stressed by the Secretary General of MLGA, Mr. Besnik Osmani that all participants are opened, to comment in the official addresses of the Heads of DEIPC, in order to take into account comments, suggestions or remarks of all actors concerned as well as to move forward with finalizing of Local Self-Government Strategy, 2015 to 2025.
