Deputy Minister of MLGA Mr. Beqir Fejzullahu, today on 31 October 2018 participated in a meeting organized by OSCE on finding sustaible solutions for access to education by numerical minority communities in Prishtine, Gracanice and Lipjan.
In his speech the Deputy Minister Fejzullahu emphasized that “Based on the mandate specified by the Law on Local Self-Government and Article 7(2) of the Law on Pre-University Education which specifies that the exercise of responsibilities and tasks of municipality in the field on pre-university education is monitored by the Ministry of Local Government Administration. MLGA in August this year has required from municipality of Prishtina, Gracanica and Lipjan, specifically for the students of villages: Janjeve, Bernice e Poshtme, Radeve, Suhadoll, Skullan, to respect the legal obligations and to find a sustainable solution for providing the transport for students that travel to follow pre-university education between these municipalities.
Based on the Law on Eduation and other laws from the state institutions, these municipalities: Prishtine, Gracanice and Lipjan, should organize the trasport for the students in order to be able to attend the lessions, possibly free of charge, or with a resaonable price. We expect for this criteria to be fulfilled during this year.
With the aim of providing continuos support for our citizens, the Ministry of Local Self-Government Administration in cooperation with OSCE will conitnue to provide the needed support for the implemenation of this request and cooperate further on, said Deputy Minister Fejzullahu.
