Deputy Prime Minister Slobodan Petrović attended the Conference organized by KLGI and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung

Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Government Administration Slobodan Petrović has participated in the annual roundtable discussion: “The Mayor – Representative or dominant” where the results of the study realized by KLGI were presented.

Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Government Administration Slobodan Petrović has participated in the annual roundtable discussion:  “The Mayor – Representative or dominant” where   the results of the study realized by KLGI were presented.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Government Administration, Slobodan Petrović has said “I can inform you about the progress achieved in the local government reform four years after the adoption of constitution. The process of decentralization is one of the fundamental principles of the democratic system. It is an inevitable path for the development of democracy. Decentralization is a key factor for improving the quality of public services."

Moreover, Minister Petrović has said that every mayor should be the strongest factor in the municipality. The role of our municipalities is important for the whole society, while the transparency of all municipalities and institutions is the starting point for the future.

The conference, which was held in the congress hall of the hotel "Grand" in Prishtina was attended by Wulff Lupins, Director of FES, Besnik Tahiri, Executive Director of KLGI, Menduh Vlahi, Chairperson of the Municipal Assembly of Hani i Elezit, Fatmir Matoshi, Head of the NGO “Press”, as well as officials from other municipalities.
