Prishtine, 11 June, 2022
Deputy Secretary General of MLGA Venera Çerkini together with the Member of the Parliament of Kosovo, Mimoza Kusari Lila and the Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Kilian Wahl attended today the Political Academy for Women in Local Government. During this meeting she described the role of the Ministry of Local Government Administration in the aspect of gender equality: the MLGA’s policies for women’s empowerment at the local level, registration of joint property on behalf of both spouses, promotion of affirmative policies for gender equality and other important issues.
Mrs. Çerkini also encouraged girls and women to be more active in the policy-making and decision-making processes at the local level, thus contributing and becoming an important part of local processes.
This meeting was supported by the OSCE Mission in Kosovo.
