On 30.06.2016, the Ministry of Local Government Administration (MLGA) has organised the first informational meeting of the sub-working group for the implementation of the Strategy on Local Self-Government (2016 – 2026). This meeting has had an informational character and was aimed at jointly coordinating activities in the implementation of the Strategy on Local Self-Government (2016-2026).
The meeting was chaired by Ms. Rozafa Ukimeraj, Acting General Secretary of MLGA, while the sub-working group is consisted of the representatives of OPM / SPO, MESP, MEST, MCYS, MF, MH, MTI, KLGI, MED, EU / EUSR and Kosovo Law Centre.
Ms. Ukimeraj has thanked the participants for their participation and added that the purpose of the first meeting is to get acquainted to the working group members and decide on the future format of the meetings. Furthermore, Ms. Ukimeraj has made a brief presentation of the Strategy on Local Self-Government (2016 – 2026), starting from the timeline and the steps that have been taken and are planned to be taken in the near future, and stressed that the MLGA in cooperation with its partners, especially the OSCE has implemented a joint plan for the implementation of activities derived from the Strategy.
The representative of MEST has made a presentation on "Preparing young people for the workforce and the labour market,” aimed at informing the participants regarding the link between the strategies of MEST and MLGA. Moreover, the representatives of the OPM/SPO, MCYS, MH, as well as other representatives of the sub-working group have expressed their readiness for cooperation and coordination of activities in implementing the SLSG (2016 – 2026).
Participants agreed to the following conclusions:
• to hold the next meeting (second meeting) in September 2016;
• to report twice a year on the implementation of SLSG (2016 – 2026);
• MLGA staff shall send the following documents to the participants: Action Plan on the Strategy on Local
Self-Government Strategy (2016 – 2026) and the minutes of the meeting.
