On the date 2-3 July, 2015 it was held a joint consulting meeting between MLGA and OSCE in Kosovo, in order to discussion Strategy for Local Self-Government for action plan 2016-2026. After the opening remark, Minister of MLGA, Mr. Lubomir Maric, he empathize the importance of the Strategy for Local Self-Government in Kosovo, and for the priorities for the 3 year period of time, planned with the financial cost of the strategy. At this meeting also were present OSCE ambassador in Kosovo, Mr. Jean Claude Schlumberger. Who appreciated the work of the drafting of the strategy on Local Self- Government, expressing the readiness of the OSCE to support the implementation of the objectives set in this strategy

Who appreciated the work of the drafting of the strategy on Local Self- Government, expressing the readiness of the OSCE to support the implementation of the objectives set in this strategy.Details of the strategy and objectives and planned actives were presented by Rozafa Ukmeraj, head of the Department for European Integration and policies Coordination. Ms. Ukmeraj explained that the strategy for local self-government it was send for assessment at the Ministry of Finance, respectively at the Office for Strategic Planning, which after receiving of confirmation of the positions from these two institutions, the same will be send for approval at the Government of Republic Of Kosova.
Strategy for local self-government it foresees implantation of five main objectives, focused on increasing social and economic sustainability and local structures, establishing a framework for good governance, strengthening of the local self-government institutional capacities, strengthen partnership between local authorities and civil society and business, promoting natural and culture heritage and also promoting ethnic, language and culture diversity in municipality.
For the strategic objective, presented Besim Kamberaj, Head of Department for Regional Cooperation and Development; Agron Maxhuni, Head of Legal Department and Municipality Monitoring; Avni Sahiti, Head of Department for Municipality Transparency, also Diellor Gashi, Head of the Division for Policy Coordination at MLGA.
The meeting concluded by identifying joint activities and by agreeing of the group for coordinating the action during the next 3 years, in order to realize the full strategic objectives.
