International Conference

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Government Administration attended in the International Conference for Local Democracy, local government cooperation with civil society. "

In the opening remarks on the Conference, Deputy Prime Minister Petrovic said: "Local Democracy and coordination of activities between the state and civil society institutions represent democratic values of a society. Civil sector is an excellent way of monitoring the changes in the local democratic oversight and efficiency of services they are provided by the  local institutions. The role of civil society is evident in building a democratic society. In comparison with the civil societies of the region, the Kosovo civil sector is constantly evolving and becoming stronger in relation to institutions, which is a good sign. "

Ministry of Local Government Administration, since its establishment, has made its contribution by investing in the establishment of a system of values that promote democracy at the local level, where the main goal was and is the foundation of advanced systems that ensure the participation of citizens and society civilian on the decision-making process.

"MLGA works diligently to build a modern administration in accordance with European standards and the changes are evident. Report from the European Commission on the advancement shows that local government in Kosovo has had a large building and development according to the desired changes, "was said Petrovic.

At the end of his speech, Deputy Prime Minister Petrovic has praised the work of civil society by showing the willingness of Kosovo institutions to enhance cooperation and coordination on the common goals, all this for European values.

The conference was attended by the Director General of the International SIPU Anders Olin, President of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities, Mr. Naim Ismail, Head of the European Council Office  in Kosovo Tim Cartwright, Chief Operating Division of the EU office in Kosovo, Christof Stock.
