On 5 March 2019, it is held the first meeting between MLGA and Civil Society Organizations, of which participated: GAP, INPO, KLGI, D4D, LYC, KCSF, CIVIKOS etc.
The purpose of the meeting was discussion of the findings and recommendations from published reports of CSOs regarding local self-government in Kosovo.
The General Secretary of MLGA Mrs. Rozafa Ukimeraj, emphasized that the role of Civil Society is quite important for the development and advancement of local self-government in Kosovo.
The Civil Society Organizations showed their appreciation to MLGA for organizing this meeting while expressing their support in the involvement of different phases of public policies with the aim of advancing the local self-government.
During the meeting were discussed the conclusions and recommendations of different NGOs documents regarding the advancement of local self-government.
The conclusions from the meeting with NGOs were: inclusion of NGO recommendations in the MLGA questionnaires with the aim of having these recommendations addressed by municipalities, holding such meetings with NGOs, as well as involvement of Civil Society stakeholders in the meetings regarding the Local Self-government Strategy 2016-2026.
