On 19 February 2019, MLGA representatives hosted in a meeting the Members of the Assembly of Kosovo of the Commission for Human Rights, Gender Equality, Missing Persons and Petitions, to discuss the monitoring of the implementation of the Law on Gender Equality within MLGA and Municipalities.
During the meeting it was discussed about the actions that MLGA has undertaken in supervising and in advancement of the gender equality in municipalities. The representatives of MLGA emphasized that until now the progress is achieved in several aspect of gender representation in decision-making positions and in equal gender representation in two Obligatory Committees within the Municipal Assemblies.
Additionally, MLGA has also presented the progress achieved in implementing the Law on Gender Equality in the civil service within the MLGA, whereby 50% of the equal representation level for both genders was achieved at all levels of the institutional hierarchy.
The Assembly Commission highly evaluated the work of MLGA in achieving gender equality within the Ministry and in promoting gender equality in Municipalities.
