The aim of the Partnership Agreement on technical assistance for cross-border cooperation programme (2014-2020) between Macedonia and Kosova is to implement joint projects connecting the settlements in the border area of both countries.
The authorised representatives of the Republic of Kosova and Macedonia have signed today the Partnership Agreement on technical assistance for cross-border cooperation programme (2014-2020) between the Republic of Kosova and Republic of Macedonia.
The agreement was signed between Ambassador of the Republic of Kosova in Macedonia, Mr. YlberHysa and Minister of Local Self-Governance of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. LirimShabani.
Upon signing the Agreement, the ambassador of the Republic of Kosova in Macedonia, Mr. YlberHysa has said that this agreement creates a good opportunity for implementation of important infrastructural projects, and that the absorption of these projects opens the door for multiple benefits for both countries, Kosova and Macedonia.
"The agreement on cross-border cooperation has a direct impact on the level of cooperation between the countries in building absorptive capacity of institutions and increasing social and economic cohesion," said Ambassador YlberHysa on the occasion of signing the agreement.
Minister of Local Self-Governance of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. LirimShabani thanked the representatives of the Republic of Kosova for their cooperation, and said that the agreement provides the possibility to finance a great number of projects in the border areas between the two countries until 2020.
The agreement that has been signed today defines theorganisation, partnership and responsibilities of each member of the project "Technical Assistance for Kosovo-Macedonia CBC 2014-2020" in accordance with the organisation, methodology and budget allocation.
The agreement establishes the partnership and defines the joint responsibilities for coordinating the implementation of projects of both ministries.
