Meeting with Mayors of Municipality of Kosovo

Petrovic: “We as MLGA are dedicated to deepen the local government reform, always with one objective- improving the service and increasing the quality of life of our citizens”

In the meeting organized by MLGA wit the Mayors of Municipalities of Kosovo, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of MLGA, MR. Slobodan Petrovic said that Ministry will continuo to cooperate with municipalities in order to provide quality services for all citizens.

“For the moment we are in the phase on drafting the Strategy for Local Government 2012-2016” so in this case I encourage you to use the remaining time to sent your suggestions, proposals and your remarks and all your concerns that you may have so that they can be incorporated in the Strategy for Local Government 2012-2016” it was said by Minister Petrovic.

Also Minister Petrovic informed the Mayors of Kosovo, that the Ministry that he runs for the third time will organize the International Conference, so he invited the Mayors to be part of this conference by presenting the achievement of their municipalities in public service, and local resources.

“We thought that the fairy could be as a competition race between the municipalities, on which Municipality has achieved to provide more efficient services toward the citizens, or which municipality has been able to attract more direct investment, and which municipalities have the best conditions to make business in Kosovo. Because of this reason MLGA has allocated sufficient amount of money to reward Three best municipalities in this occasion, also this is a good opportunity to learn form each other in order to improve the quality of services that we provide for the citizens” it was said by Minister Petrovic.
