Meeting with the coordinators and officials of the Municipal Offices for Return and Communities

Petrović: “Kosovo Plan for Decentralization is focused on the citizens and provision of better services to all communities. The example from the new municipalities shows that local self-government in Kosovo in cooperation with the Government and international partners offers a real possibility for the strengthening of the rights of communities”

The meeting with the coordinators and officials of Municipal Offices for Return and Communities, organized by the Ministry of Local Government Administration in cooperation with the Office of Prime Minister and other relevant institutions, was held.
The Prime Minister, Mr. Hashim Thaqi, the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Slobodan Petrović, Minister of European Integrations, Ms. Vlora Çitaku, Minister of Return and Communities, Mr. Radojica Tomić, Deputy Chief of International Civilian Office, Mr. Christopher Rowan and coordinators and officials of the Municipal Offices for Return and Communities in municipalities have participated in this meeting

“The return of the displaced persons in their properties is a great priority of the Government of Kosovo” has said the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Mr. Hashim Thaqi.

By emphasizing the importance of the process of return of displaced persons, the Prime Minister Thaqi has said that Kosovo welcomes all those who want to return in Kosovo to have a better life for their families. Kosovo Police working with the international partners is committed to ensure a safer environment to all citizens of Kosovo, especially those returned recently.

The Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Slobodan Petrović has said that process of integration of communities is one of the most important and complex processes on which the Government is continuously committed.
 
“MAPL have explained to the communities that Kosovo Plan for Decentralization is focused on the citizens and provision of better services to all communities. The example from the new municipalities shows that local self-government in Kosovo in cooperation with the Government and international partners offers a real possibility for the strengthening of the rights of communities” has said Deputy Prime Minister Petrović.

Minister Petrović has said that MLGA will continue to support the functionalizing of the offices through regular visits in the field, and improve the coordination mechanisms at the central level with the line ministries, which are also the main responsible authority to promote their establishment in all municipalities of Kosovo.

The Minister of European Integrations, Ms. Vlora Çitaku, Minister of Return and Communities, Mr. Radojica Tomić, Deputy Chief of International Civilian Office, Mr. Christopher Rowan have talked about the importance and the role of the Offices of Return.
