In a meeting initiated by MLGA, led by Minister Adrijana Hodžić in cooperation with the OSCE, the discussion was gender representation at local level – two years after local elections.
In the meeting participated local self-government representatives, local non-government sector representatives of other government institutions as well as representatives of international organizations.
Minister Hodžić emphasized that “in the past two years there has been progress in the inclusion of women in local institutions, but the fact remains that this principle has not reached the required level. It is necessary to fully implement all laws and institutional mechanisms in the fight against discrimination and marginalization of women in all spheres of life and processes that take place in our society.”
