As part of the official visit to the state of IOWA, Minister of MLGA Mr. Elbert Krasniqi met with mayors of the cities, the representatives of the councils and the city administrators of Clarion, Fort Dodge, Johnston, Sioux City, Des Moines and Norwalk, respectively with the mayor of Clarion city Mr. Duane Asbe, the mayor of Fort Dodge city Mr. Matt Bemrich, the mayor of Johnston city Mrs. Paula Dierenfeld, mayor pro tem of Sioux city Mr. Dan Moore, mayor pro tem of city of Des Moines Mrs. Linda Westergaard and the mayor of Norwalk city Mr. Tom Phillips.
During these visits, Minister Krasniqi was informed by the mayors of the cities about the actions undertaken for improving municipal services for citizens, local economic development with a focus on rural development, as well as inclusion and strengthening of the cooperation with the citizens in drafting policies and in decision-making processes.
Thus, Minister Krasniqi congratulated the mayors of the cities about the work done for implementing the requests of the citizens and advancement of all services provided to citizens.
Furthermore, Minister Krasniqi emphasized that the activities foreseen under the Cooperation/Twinning Agreements between municipalities of Kosovo and cities of IOWA, should be given the right energy in order for the activities to be implemented in the best way possible and at the same time to create new opportunities and give new ideas.
