Minister of Local Government Administration Elbert Krasniqi participated in the conclusion of the workshop for preparing the draft Law on Local Self-government, where it is foreseen to be prepared the legal framework for amendment-supplement of the Law on Local Self-government No. 03/L-040.
During its speech, Minister Krasniqi has highly praised the role of the local government in the development of the country and the improvement of the living of the citizens. Municipalities today enjoy a high degree of local self-government and encourage and ensure active participation of all citizens in the decision-making process in municipal bodies.
Local self-government in Kosovo promotes also democratic conduct, transparency and accountability, as well as guarantees a system of mutual control at municipal level to ensure respecting of the constitution and the legal system.
Reform on Local Self-Government is one of the main points within the objectives of the Ministry of Local Government Administration.
