The importance of the development of local democracy, the active participation of citizens in municipal decision-making and the increase of transparency and accountability were the main topics which were discussed during the joint informative meeting between the Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi and the Director of IDK Mrs. Nancy Soderberg.
During this meeting, Minister Krasniqi, informed the Director Soderberg on MLGA priorities and projects in the field of strengthening local democracy, increasing transparency and accountability, by mentioning some of the main decisions and activities which are related to these priorities.
On the other hand, Mrs. Soderberg, has unveiled some of the main plans and projects of IDK in Kosovo, which aim to increase transparency through the inclusion of marginalized groups and communities at the local level.
Also, during this meeting, the Director Soderberg and her colleagues presented the research prepared by IDK which reflects the involvement of young people in policy making.
