Yesterday, the Deputy of the Assembly of Kosovo, Donika Kadaj Bujupaj visited Minister of MLGA, Mrs. Hodžić and addressed her most sincere congratulations, expressing the pleasure that a woman is at the head of the Ministry.
Interlocutors at yesterday’s meeting agreed that in Kosovo, there is a low participation of women in decision-making processes and their representation in general.
Taking into account the obligations to respect gender equality in all aspects of life in Kosovo, greater importance should be given on the involvement of women in the decision-making process. For the equal rights of women and men in general, local and regional authorities should take the necessary measures and approve the appropriate strategies in order to promote balanced participation of women and men in all areas of decision-making – has said Minister of MLGA, Mrs. Hodžić.
She also added that the Ministry of Local Government Administration based on Law No. 05 / L-020 has managed to motivate municipalities for gender equality and that in all committees should have a minimum representation of women about 50% .
