After the media writings on the lives of the remaining Serbs in Bernica e Eperme, Minister of the Local Government Administration in resignation, Ivan Todosijević has decided to visit the village itself and get closely informed with the inhabitants and their problems.
Prior to the visit in Bernica e Eperme (Gornja), Todosijević visited Bernica e Ulet, where during the discourse with the inhabitants of this village, unemployment was highlighted as a very big problem. The residents of Bernica e Ulet emphasized that they have a good cooperation with the Municipality of Prishtina and informed the Minister about what has been done in recent years and what should be done in order to make life better in this village. Todosijević also visited the church, elementary school and kindergarten.
After the visit in Bernica e Poshtme (Donja), he also visited Bernica e Eperme (Gornja), where in the church yard he talked with residents about their daily problems. Residents expressed their gratitude to the Minister for the visit because they felt that so far they had been forgotten by everyone and also expressed their concern about the daily abandonment of the youth from the village, pointing out that unemployment is the biggest problem as well as the main cause of the abandonment of the birthplace, thus even the school that exists in this village is closed for many years, because there are no students eventhough there are still some young people.
Todosijević said that in accordance with the mandate of the Ministry of Local Government Administration and in coordination with the line ministries and the Municipality of Prishtina, we will do the best to solve the key problems of these two villages, Bernica e Poshtme (Donja) dhe e Eperme (Gornja).
