Today, Minister of Ministry of Local Government Administration Mr. Ivan Todosijevic hosted in a meeting the UNHCR Chief of Mission in Kosovo Mr. Erol Arduç.
Minister Todosijevic, welcomed Mr. Arduç and congratulated him for taking office as UNHCR Chief of Mission in Kosovo. MLGA is thankful towards UNHCR that has continuously provided the needed support for the Ministry and country’s institutions towards protecting, promoting and respecting human rights in Kosovo.
UNHCR Chief of Mission Mr. Erol Arduç thanked Minister Todosijevic for the meeting which will serve as a continuity of joint efforts and actions for the welfare of citizens and the protection of their rights.
Minister Todosijević used the opportunity to condemn the attack on returnees in the village of Zac and other returnee places. The Head of the UNHCR Mission and the Minister agreed to set up technical teams to work on a regular basis and to hold frequent meetings at the ministerial level and at the level of the head of the mission. One of the common priorities is the closure of collective centers where displaced persons have been residing for 20 years and also to facilitate the conditions of returnees in terms of obtaining personal documents and full social and economic integration.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Todosijevic thanked Mr. Arduç for its interest and support for the work of Ministry, as well as the willingness shown for continuing further on their engagement in respecting human rights in Kosovo.
