The Ministry of Local Government Administration has organized the second consultative meeting to discuss about the draft “Local Government Strategy 2013 – 2016".
On this occasion, Deputy Minister of Local Government Administration, Mr. Basri Musmurati has said that this strategy reflects the constitutional principles of local self-government in the Republic of Kosovo and the European Charter of Local Self-Government. The aim of this strategy is to support and guide the implementation of best practices in local government in Kosovo in keeping with European standards.
The CDF advisor in the Department of Local Government Reform/MLGA Mr. Ibrahim Krasniqi has presented the strategy in more details. The strategy is led by three main principles: efficiency on delivery of administrative services, cost efficiency and reflecting of European principles for the organization of the work method.
The Local Government Strategy 2013-2016 was prepared in close coordination with the municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo, Association of Municipalities of Kosovo, ministries and other local and international partners focused on the field of local self-government in Kosovo.
Core to the strategy is the improvement of the lives of the citizens of Kosovo by improving the quality of services provided by local government, increasing efficiency and effectiveness of local administration, creating a supportive atmosphere for private initiatives and investments.
The discussion on “Local Government Strategy 2013 – 2016” will continue. MLGA will organize two other consultative meetings in the different regions of Kosovo with the participations of all stakeholders
