The Ministry of Local Government Administration in cooperation with USAID/AKT has organised a two-day workshop (09 – 10 november) entitled “Model-strategies and plans for local socio-economic development”, as a part of their support activities to municipalities.
The aim of this workshop was to provide support to municipalities with regards to the Strategy on Socio-Economic Development. The workshop was attended by representatives of 26 municipalities, who will be involved in drafting the strategies for local socio-economic development.
The Head of the Department for Regional Development and Cooperation, Mr. Besim Kamberaj has made a presentation on best practices and models of strategies and plans for local socio-economic development and said that MLGA will continue to support municipalities in all areas where coordination and support of the central level is needed.
The chief of USAID’s Advancing Kosovo Together project Ms. Amy Denkenberger has said that the project, which is being implemented in 16 partner municipalities aims to improve inter-ethnic cooperation, create better employment opportunities and improve the services delivered by municipalities to citizens.
The representatives from the Ministry of Local Government Administration and USAID have presented before the representatives of municipalities all the necessary information regarding the model strategies and plans for local socio-economic development, including the budgetary impact assessment in drafting strategic documents.
