Through the discussion with the municipalities and the group of inters about the “Strategy for Local Government 2013-2016” MLGA organized the third and the second consultative meeting in the Municipality of Gjakova, where present were also the representatives from Municipality of Peja, Deçani, Istog, Dragash , Prizren, Mamush and Rahovec.
Deputy Minister of Ministry of Local Government Administration, MR. Basri Musmurati said that through this strategy and in coordination with countries aspirations for European Integrations, we will aim to achieve European standards, participation of the citizens on decisions making and drafting developing policies which will put into the local development and regional.
“Ministry of Local Government Administration it will treat with enormous responsibility, finalizing this Strategy I believe together we will achieve to the positive changes, for he good of the country of Kosovo and it’s citizens” it was said by Deputy Minister Musmurati.
Where as General Secretary of MLGA, MR. Besnik Osmani said that the main dimensions of the “Strategy for Local Government 2012-2016” are to make equal and rights for all citizens, where as the main principals of this strategy are legality and transparency.
During the discussions about the “Strategy for Local Government 2012-2016” MR. Osmani said the main challenges for the moment for local government in Kosovo remains, measuring the performance of local authorities in independently and the participation of the citizens on decision making. MR. Besnik called up on the municipality to cooperate with the civil society on fulfilling the “Strategy for Local Government 2012-2016”.
In the name of KMA, spoke mayor of Gjakova, MR. Pal Lekaj, who said that “Strategy for Local Government 2012-2016”has an significant importance for the municipalities, also he said that municipalities will be very active on adding this strategy, depend from the needs of the municipalities.
