Ministry of Local Government Administration today in Mitrovica organized the fourth consultative meeting for discussion the Draft “Strategy for Local Government 2012-2016”.
Deputy Minister of MLGA, MR. Basri Musmurati said that this strategy reflects the principals of the Constitution of the Republic Of Kosovo and the European Chart for Local Self-Government.
“This strategy has as objective continuing the reform on the local government, aiming a huge economic and social development in Kosovo. Also it aims to implement the best practices of the local government in Kosovo aiming to keep this to the European standard.
Having as a mission to improving the life of the citizens of Kosovo, improving the quality of services which are provided by the local government and establishing a supportive environment for the initiatives and private investments” it was said by the Deputy Minister Musmurati.
Where as, MR. Ibrahim Krasniqi, consultant from CDF, in the Department for Local Government Reformation/MLGA, during the presentation of the strategy said that the objective for improving the services-decentralization needs to be as much as possible acceptable for the citizens.
“Strategy is formulated in that way that it would support not only in principal but also in the ground the human rights including the rights of the communities” it was aid by MR. Krasniqi.
In this meeting took place representatives from municipality of Mitrovica, Gllogovce, Drenas, Vushtrri, also students and other groups participated. It was said that the backbone of the strategy is the improvement of life of citizens of Kosovo, through improving the services in the local level.
In the end Deputy Minister Musmurati told the representatives, especially to the representatives of municipalities, that all remarks and suggestions and comments regarding to the strategy for Local Government 2012-2016, should be addressed to MLGA.
