The Ministry of Local Government Administration organised a regular meeting with donors supporting the ministry and local governance in the Republic of Kosovo in order to present the projects that have been implemented as well coordinate joint activities in the future.
This meeting was attended by General Secretary of MLGA Ms. Rozafa Ukimeraj, Deputy Minister of MLGA Mr. Bajram Gecaj, heads of the MLGA departments and representatives of donors supporting the ministry and local governance in the Republic of Kosova.
The General Secretary of MLGA has opened the meeting by welcoming the participants and thanking the donors for their continued support in the implementation of joint activities. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss about the implemented projects and coordination of joint activities in the future with donors supporting local governance in the Republic of Kosova.
Deputy Minister of MLGA Mr. Bajram Gecaj has initially thanked the participants for their participation. Mr. Gecaj has mentioned two main points on which MLGA needs donor support in the future, i.e. a feasibility study on local government and supporting municipalities in the fulfilment of obligations derived from the European agenda. Deputy Minister Gecaj has also encouraged the participants to identify as many areas or activities that could be supported by donors.
Heads of MLGA’s departments have separately presented the activities that were implemented with the support of donors as well as the new needs for support of the Ministry and municipalities in the second half of 2016 and 2017.
At the end of the meeting, the donors have expressed their readiness in supporting joint activities also in the future.
