At the request of MLGA/DAHRM, the TAIEX expert has stayed in the Republic of Kosovo from 25 to 29 April. The purpose of the 5-day stay in Kosovo was the engagement of all stakeholders involved in the promotion and protection of human rights. During the meetings, workshops and visits to municipalities, the expert was focused on reviewing the legal package for human rights and the comparison with regional countries; discussion of challenges associated with the implementation of new legislation on human rights; cooperation and coordination of the central and local level, review of institutional structures for human rights; providing support in implementation of the legislative package, monitoring and reporting as the responsibility of officials of central and local level on implementation of the new legislation, cooperation with civil society as a key partner on both levels.
Joint activities in the field of human rights are realized according to the agenda prepared in cooperation with TAIEX.
The agenda of the expert was focused in meetings with officials of MLGA, Office of the Prime Minister (OGG / OPM), GEA, the visit in the municipality of FusheKosove and Prizren, where he met with the mayors of these municipalities. Then the different workshops were held with municipal coordinators for human rights and civil society
