The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Government Administration Mr. Slobodan Petrović has requested at today’s meeting of the Government funding of capital projects in north municipalities in particular in the municipality of Leposaviq/Leposavić and Mitrovicë Veriore/Severna Mitrovica. 16 May 2014, Prishtinë/Priština
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Government Administration Mr. Slobodan Petrović has requested at today’s meeting of the Government funding of capital projects in north municipalities in particular in the municipality of Leposaviq/Leposavić and Mitrovicë Veriore/Severna Mitrovica.
"Despite the progress achieved, municipalities are still facing budget shortfall for capital projects. These means were not included in the budget that was allocated last year since there have been no legitimate representatives of municipal institutions. Due to heavy rains and floods, three bridges were damaged and some villages of Leposaviq/Leposavić municipality have remained isolated. The renovation of some streets should be funded in the municipality of Mitrovicë Veriore/Severna Mitrovica," has said Petrović.
He has asked the Government to approve an additional budget of 700,000 Euros to finance the renovation of bridges in the municipality of Leposaviq/Leposavić and highways in Mitrovicë Veriore/Severna Mitrovica. Petrović has said that the municipal administration is working in very difficult conditions. Therefore, an amount of 100,000 Euros is needed in order to ensure normal working conditions. "These means can be divided by MLGA and in cooperation with mayors of these municipalities we will work together to realize these projects. I believe that these emergent projects can be funded with some savings from the line ministries and Government’s reserve fund “has said Deputy Prime Minister at today’s meeting.
