The Ministry of Local Government (MLG), according to the legal mandate, monitors the municipalities and publishes periodic reports related to the activity of the municipalities. Regarding the report on the management situation created due to COVID-19 pandemic, MLG has monitored the activity of 38 municipalities and in order to inform the public has published the report. The report contains three parts: the activity of the MLG with regards to the inter-institutional coordination process for pandemic management; the activity of the Municipal Assemblies as well as the financial aspects and the impact of the pandemic on the revenues and expenditures of the municipalities.
Regarding the activity of the Municipal Assemblies, MLG has identified all the information available, during the monitoring process, but at the same time has sent questionnaires to all municipalities to confirm these data.
Regarding the Municipality of Peja and Istog, MLG explains to the public that the information has been sent for verification twice in a row to the respective municipalities. The information has been confirmed by the responsible officials of both municipalities, therefore the accuracy of the information presented in the report is addressed to the municipal officials who are legally obliged to inform the supervisory body in an accurate and reasonable manner. Also, these data have been confirmed by items on the agenda for the meetings of the municipal assemblies during the pandemic, sent to the MLG. So the allocation of funds for pandemic management for COVID-19 through assemblies has not been achieved by these municipalities.
MLG is ready to provide additional information and access to official communication and public documents to all interested stakeholders.
