In the today’s meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Local Government Goran Rakić and the Ambassador of the United Kingdom Nicholas Abbott, it is discussed the political and the security situation in Kosovo, the economic recovery, the problems and the developments in the local government.
Rakić initially expressed the concern about the frequent attacks on the Serb population and property and demanded a response from all relevant institutions, both in condemning and in finding the perpetrators.
While talking about the agreement in Washington, the interlocutors emphasized that the continuation of the dialogue is a priority.
The Minister also informed the Ambassador about the undertaken activities by the Ministry and the projects for municipalities, for the period since their last meeting.
The upcoming elections for the mayors of the municipalities of North Mitrovica and Podujeva, have been also discussed.
The interlocutors also agreed that the elections in these municipalities should be held by strictly respecting the recommended measures for COVID-19 pandemic, and in a democratic atmosphere.
