Minister of the Ministry of Local Government Administration, Emilia Redzepi has met today with the US Ambassador to Kosovo, His Exellency Philp Kosnett, USAID Director, Mrs. Lisa Magno as well as political staff to discuss the current situation in Kosovo, security, the conditions of the non-majority communities, the new Government’s orientation as well as the importance of continuing dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade.
At the meeting, it was stressed that good cooperation should continue.
Minister Redzepi thanked Ambassador Kosnett for the visit and emphasized the importance of the support and assistance that the United States is providing to Kosovo society and to all people of Kosovo, equally.
Minister of the Ministry of Local Government Administration, during her conversation with the Ambassador said that during her mandate, she will try to support local governments as much as possible, improve their efficiency and effectiveness, the situation on the ground in each of the 38 municipalities, with a focus on multiethnic municipalities and always for the benefit of our citizens.”.
At the meeting, they also discussed about respect for human and minority rights, respect for the use of languages in all municipalities, provision of various types of USAID support, and the creation of a climate for American investment in Kosovo.
Ambassador Kosnett wished the Minister much success and luck in her future work, and emphasized the willingness of the US Embassy to support any initiative that contributes to a better life in Kosovo.
