On 18.09.2014, the Ministry of Local Government Administration in cooperation with the Office of Prime Minister (Office of Good Governance and Legal Office) has held the next meeting with the municipality of Gjilan/Gnjilane, Kamenicë/Kamenica, Novobërdë/Novobrdo, Viti/Vitina, Ranillugë/Ranilug in order to provide information about the rights of communities as well the legal package on human rights, which is being amended and is considered as one of the condition that Republic of Kosovo needs to fulfill for visa liberalization. 25 september 2014
On 18.09.2014, the Ministry of Local Government Administration in cooperation with the Office of Prime Minister (Office of Good Governance and Legal Office) has held the next meeting with the municipality of Gjilan/Gnjilane, Kamenicë/Kamenica, Novobërdë/Novobrdo, Viti/Vitina, Ranillugë/Ranilug in order to provide information about the rights of communities as well the legal package on human rights, which is being amended and is considered as one of the condition that Republic of Kosovo needs to fulfill for visa liberalization.
The Head of the Department for Municipal Performance and Transparency in the Ministry of Local Government Administration has informed the participants about the challenges in implementing the National Action Plan for visa liberalization; obligations that municipalities should fulfill during the reporting process; changes in legislation as well common steps in fulfilling the obligations.
Moreover, the officials from the Legal Office of the OPM and Ministry of Justice have presented three draft-laws, which are in the process of amendment: Law on Gender Equality, Law on the Ombudsman and Law Against Discrimination, while the representatives from the Office for Good Governance in the Office of Prime Minister have presented the Strategy and Action Plan for the Integration of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians.
The participants have had the opportunity to be acquainted from the MLGA’s officials with the local structures of human rights, i.e., local structures for the protection of the rights of communities in the municipality.
39 municipal officials (14 females and 25 males) benefited from this meeting, respectively: 29 Albanians, 6 Serbs, 3 Roma and 1 Turk.
