The Secretary General of the Ministry of Local Government Administration, Jeton Qela, held a meeting with UNICEF representatives in Kosovo, on which meeting it was agreed to continue inter-institutional cooperation.
During the meeting, the new five-year UNICEF Program was discussed, as well as concrete opportunities for cooperation in the following areas:
• Strengthening mechanisms for the protection and promotion of children’s rights at the local level, including advancing planning and budgeting for the provision of quality social services;
• Increasing investments in the well-being of children and youth;
• Cooperation in the drafting of the Strategy for Local Self-Government, as well as in the review of the municipal performance system.
The Ministry of Local Government Administration remains committed to strengthening cooperation with all local and international partners, in order to advance local governance and sustainable municipal development.
