Based on the 2015 work plan, the Ministry of Local Government Administration together with the OSCE has prepared the draft analysis of own revenues in the Municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo for the period 2010-2014.
This document aims to provide an overview of revenues trend analysis in the municipalities of the Republic of Kosova for the period 2010-2014, as well as the possibilities for their enhancement in cooperation with the stakeholders involved in the process.
The Head of Department for Regional Development and Cooperation Mr. Besim Kamberaj has informed the participants about the analysis of the revenues in the municipalities of Kosovo for 2010-2014. He summed up all the key points of the draft analysis, such as: financing of municipalities, planning of revenues, collection of revenues, comparison between collection and planning of revenues, as well as revenue trends according to municipalities.
Meanwhile, the Officer of Local Governance Section of OSCE, Mr. Fatmir Zylfiaj has said that they will continue to support local government and added that the analysis prepared by MLGA will help municipalities regarding own revenues in the future.
Among the most important recommendations emerged upon presentation of the draft-analysis were to strengthen the primary and secondary legislation, citizen involvement and property tax, which is considered as a very important revenue.
The meeting was attended by Directors of Budget and Finance of the 27 municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo.
