Minister of the Ministry of Local Government Administration, Mr. Elbert Krasniqi, before the members of the committee for public administration, local government, media and regional development reported on the progress of the legislative agenda, including the draft law on performance management system and performance-based grant, as well as the draft law on amending-supplementing of the law on local self-government, which have been approved by the government and proceeded to the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.
Minister Krasniqi emphasized the importance of these two draft laws and addressing the changes foreseen through these two draft laws, he clarified the progress of the legislative agenda before the members of the parliamentary committee for public administration, local government, media and regional development.
On the other hand, the members of this commission congratulated Minister Krasniqi for the initiative to proceed with these draft laws, emphasizing the need for municipal performance measurement and performance grant to be regulated by law, and the support to the Municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo to be given based on performance and not preference.
Additionally, members of the parliamentary committee for public administration, local government, media and regional development have highly praised some of the changes provided by the law on local self-government, which are necessary and indispensable.
Finally, after a constructive debate, the members of the parliamentary committee for public administration, local government, media and regional development approved in principle the draft law on amending-supplementing of the law on local self-government and the draft law on the performance management system and the performance based grant.
