Today, on May 22, 2018, at 15:00, at the border-crossing point in Shishtavec / Dragash, will be held the inauguration ceremony of the Strategic project “Build together an attractive and prosperous region”, a project realized within the Program of Cross-border Cooperation Albania-Kosovo, IPA 2010-2013, which will be implemented by Ministry of Local Government Administration in Kosovo and Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, while the total value of the project on both sides of the border, is around 2.4 Million Euro.
The road construction project Kruševo – Shishtavec will connect the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Albania by improving the free movement of citizens and opening opportunities for the development of joint mountain tourism between the two countries.
The implementation of this project started in 2016, while the project is entirely funded by the EU Office in Kosovo about 85%, which includes the construction of a long road of 3.2 km from Krushevo village up to the Shishtavec border point and the construction of the parking lot at point border area 2,000 m².
Whereas, the value of 15% of this project is financed by the Ministry of Local Government Administration and includes the construction of the high voltage electricity line from Krushevo village to the Shishtavec border crossing point, construction of the power station at the border point, solar lighting in the parking lot and near the border point. The total value of the investment in the realization of this project by the Republic of Kosovo is 1.2 Million Euro.
