The Ministry of Local Government continues the work with the implementation of activities in the field of human rights for 2020, in the virtual meeting with coordinators and officials for gender equality in municipalities, to discuss the promotion of Human Rights in municipalities and in particular gender representation at the local level.
The representatives of MLG, respectively the Deputy Minister Mrs. Fatbardha Emini and Deputy Minister Mrs. Magbule Shkodra, accompanied by the general secretary Mrs. Rozafa Ukimeraj and the Director of the Legal Department and Monitoring of Municipalities, Mrs. Venera Cerkini discussed about the progress of municipality reporting in the field of human rights, data verification and implementation of report quality criteria for the period January-June 2020.
Deputy Minister, Mrs. Emini and Deputy Minister Mrs. Shkodra have encouraged gender equality officials to accelerate the full implementation of the Law on Gender Equality, which guarantees a 50-50 representation, which in practice still remains challenging.
While, the Director of Legal Department and Monitoring of municipalities, Mrs. Cerkini presented the six-month report of the municipalities.
