The speech of Minister Hodžić on the occasion of the Egyptian’s Day

Ladies and gentleman,

Dear attendees.

It is a great honor and pleasure to be here with you today, and I shall take the opportunity to greet you and wish you the Holiday, the Memorial Day of the Egyptian community.

Today is an important day not only for Egyptians, but for all non-majority communities living in Kosovo, and it is an ideal opportunity for all of us to send a message to everyone, especially to the Albanian majority community, in order to devote us the more time, attention, and support to achieving a common goal, which is a truly multiethnic society in which we are all equal and to which we aspire.

Our common goal, the goal of all citizens of Kosovo, while the obligation of institutions at the central and local level is to improve the living conditions as well as to create political, social, economic, educational and cultural conditions, strengthen the identity, as well as respect and protection of the values of all communities in Kosovo.

The Egyptian community, as the other communities has many things to be proud of. Tradition and culture of the Egyptian community are unique, not only in Kosovo, but also beyond and therefore represents an invaluable asset of Kosovo society. This is another reason why we should devote more efforts to improve the position of communities and maintaining this wealth.

As a member of non-majority community and as a Minister of the Ministry of Local Government Administration, I would like to express my personal commitment and commitment of the ministry that I lead, and to assure you that I will work hard every day and in every opportunity that would be given to me on promoting the rights of all communities and their full integration into Kosovo society.

One of the witnesses of my work with dedication and one of my first associates is precisely the representative of the Egyptian community, the Deputy Minister, Mr. Bashkim Krasniqi, for whom I have only good words about his great contribution on improving the situation of the Egyptian community.

Therefore, I use the opportunity to appeal to the political elite, the heads of institutions, leading personalities in Kosovo society that it is time to concretize their readiness and verbal support, with deeds.

In the end, let me once again wish you the holiday, the Memorial Day of the Egyptian Community, wishing you all the best!

Thank you for your attention!
